West Wind Html Help Builder is provided as fully functional shareware. The shareware version is unrestricted and has all the features and functionality of the registered version, but embeds a small shareware notice at the bottom of generated documentation output. You can freely use the Shareware version assuming the shareware notice is displayed as part of the content. Tampering or removing of the notice is not allowed with the shareware license.

If you'd like to use Help Builder without the shareware message you can register a fully licensed copy. The licensed copy removes the shareware message and startup notifications. Each licensed user must have a separate license, but a single user may use multiple copies of West Wind Html Help Builder on multiple machines, given that only one copy at a time is in use. An organizational site license is available to allow any number of users running unlimited numbers of Help Builder instances within a single organization. Any purchased license is valid for the duration of the major release that it was purchased for (ie. 5.00-5.99).

License

Html Help Builder can be downloaded and used using the Shareware version for evaluation and non-commercial use, but a license must be purchased for continued commercial use. Licenses are per user, rather than per machine, so a licensed user can use Markdown Monster on as many computers as needed. An organizational license is also available to use Html Help Builder with an unlimited number of installations within a single organization. Each individual user requires a separate license, unless an organizational license is used in which case the license is limited to members of licensed organization.

Licenses are valid for the major version for which it was purchased such as v5.0 to v5.99.
